The Earth ceremony, also known as the soil ceremony, is a delightful alternative to the unity candle, sand, or wine ceremony, all in their own way representative of the uniting of two individuals, two families, coming together as one.  The parents contribute earth from the two family homes, & during the ceremony, the couple adds the earth to a potted tree or plant that will be residing at their own home.

Easy-care plants like the slow-growing Jade or the Ficus tree make great indoor choices.
