The lock ceremony is a beautiful way to symbolize your commitment to one another. Whether simple or ornate, the closing of the lock shows that you feel your love is forever.  I've done ceremonies where the parents also came forward and snapped locks onto the lock tree or board to represent their own bonding and belief in the union of the couple on their special day.
